LOW BACK PAIN
Although 92% of people with lower back pain recover within 2 months, 90% of that low back pain is recurrent. Similarly, without a comprehensive maintenance program, many extremity injuries become nagging recurrent problems. Recurrence means aggravating factors continue to occur.
At Smolczynski Physical Therapy Associates we realize that it isn’t always possible to avoid the actions and postures that result in spine and extremity pain. That’s why our Physical Therapists never limit themselves to one particular mode of therapy.
Many forms of therapy such as manipulation, mobilization, massage, and stretching, have been shown to be of questionable benefit when used in an isolated manner. Even body mechanics training is largely ineffective as a stand alone treatment.
Our physical therapists realize the need for a multi-faceted approach to biomechanical disorders. Therefore our therapists utilize many approaches including manual (hands-on) and exercise-based therapies in addition to patient education. Ultimately you are the only one who can truly make a difference in promoting and preserving the health of your body, and we can help!
